Q: What is your favorite lens?
A: Right now it is the Lensbaby Composer but before I got the lovely goodness I mainly shot with my 85mm 1.8. I will obviously still shoot a ton with it but I am hoping to incoorportate the Lensbaby Composer into more of my sessions. I just love the dreaminess of it and it really pushes me creatively and that is always a plus!
Q: How did you learn photography?
A: I am still learning photography
I think we all are still learning right lol However I started my journey by reading books like Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson and a couple of photography forums. I suggest checking out ILP (I Love Photography) there is a lot of great information over there and a lot of talented photographers willing to help you learn and grow.
Q: How do you nail exposure? Do you use an external light meter?
A: I do not use an external light meter. I just just the meter in camera. I spot meter and meter off my subjects forehead typically. I also overexpose a bit as well. I like my images bright and I think over exposing a bit keeps my skin tones creamy as well.
Q: Do you have any tips or techniques to create that romantic hazy images?
A: I don’t do this in photoshop. My haze is done in camera while shooting. It really takes getting out there and playing around in the light to learn how to work with it to achieve that look. So my tip is to get out there and play!
Q: Do you edit all your images in color and black and white for your clients?
A: Nope. While culling my images in Lightroom and decide there if I prefer an image in color or black and white.
Q: What are your favorite actions?
A: Besides my own? I like using Florabella and TRA. I went action crazy when I first started and now I rarely even use any of them.
That is all for now! If you have a question for me shoot me an email or post it on my fan page and I will answer in my next Q&A
I leave you with two of my babies shot with my new LensBaby
