OCF and Flash Mentoring Session Giveaway|Las Vegas Portrait Photographer

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Even though I am an all natural light photographer I enjoy a great OCF image as well! I am super excited to announce this giveaway for all of you that do the OCF and flash thing ;) Zenia Anderson of Inspire Me Baby is offering up a 3 week mentoring session on OCF and learning to use your flash on Manual!

Off Camera Flash Image

Manual Mode / Off-Camera Flash 3 Week Mentoring:
Who

* For photographers who love photographing in available light but want to add drama once in a while
* For photographers who are comfortable shooting in manual on their camera, and have no idea how to use their flash in manual
* For photographers who have had pocket wizards or an off-camera lighting system but no idea how to use it

What

The 3 week online mentoring includes a lesson a week with an assignment a week. Lessons are tailored to your needs. I will be available each week via e-mail to give feedback and answer any of your questions.
What You Need

* A DSLR (you must be comfortable shooting in manual mode on your camera)
* A Speedlight (e.g., Canon 580 EX, Nikon SB-900, etc.)
* A system for off-camera flash is optional but will be discussed

When

Mentoring begins any time you’re ready within a month of purchase.
Why

I am a photographer who had a HUGE fear of off-camera flash and manual mode. The technical aspects of photographing in manual flash intimidated me.

I read Dane Sanders’ book, “Fast Track Photographer,” which said that you should maximize your strengths versus fix your weaknesses. “Perfect!,” I thought, “an excuse for me never to learn off-camera flash.”

However, it still bothered me. How could I call myself a professional photographer and still not know how to manipulate my flash? That’s when I undertook a journey to learn. I found a way to learn, and hope to share it with you!

value: $200

Zenia being such a sweetie has also offered up a coupon code as well!!

Coupon Code for $100 off (expires 9/30): karocks

Paper Dolls|Las Vegas Portrait Photographer

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

This weekend at Haylee picked out a paper doll book from Borders. I was so stinkin’ excited. Why? Because I knew she would ask me to play paper dolls with her. I haven’t played with paper dolls… omg I don’t know how old I was when I last played with them. I always had so much fun dressing them up and having Ken be their boyfriend. I think it is so neat how some of the great toys I use to play with are the same toys my daughter loves to play with now. Oh and I won’t pretend to act like I wasn’t over the moon when I saw Jelly shoes at Target :) I wonder if those slap bracelets will ever come back. You know what I am talking about :) Those bracelets that came in cool different designs and you would slap them onto your wrist. Oh yea so cool!
